Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Elumio collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you visit this website or contact us about our products and services.
1. Who we are
Elumio provides software and operational technology solutions, including information about platform capabilities, implementation discussions, and business enquiries through this website and our direct contact channels.
2. Information we collect
We may collect personal information that you choose to provide or that is generated by normal website use, including:
- your name, company name, email address, phone number, and job title;
- the content of emails, calls, LinkedIn messages, or other enquiry communications;
- business context you share with us about your needs, systems, or operations;
- technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referral source, and basic server logs;
- page-view, CTA-click, form-start, form-abandonment, form-submission, and form-error events captured for website funnel measurement;
- campaign and attribution data such as landing page, referrer, UTM parameters, and click identifiers (for example
gclid,fbclid, ormsclkid) where present.
3. How we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and communicate with prospective clients or partners;
- evaluate requests for demos, consultations, implementation, or related services;
- operate, secure, and improve the website and our business communications;
- measure website traffic, page performance, CTA engagement, and enquiry conversion paths;
- understand which channels, campaigns, and landing pages are driving business enquiries;
- comply with legal, tax, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations;
- protect our rights, systems, users, and business interests.
4. Legal basis for processing
Where applicable, we process personal information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, to perform a contract, to comply with legal obligations, to pursue legitimate business interests, or because you have given consent. We aim to handle personal information in a manner consistent with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
5. Direct communications
Because Elumio currently conducts business primarily through direct contact, most personal information we receive comes from emails, calls, referrals, LinkedIn, or other one-to-one business discussions. We use that information to continue the conversation, assess fit, and support the relevant enquiry.
6. Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information only where reasonably necessary with:
- service providers supporting hosting, email, communications, analytics, security, or professional services;
- advisers such as legal, accounting, or compliance professionals;
- authorities, regulators, or law enforcement where required by law or to protect rights and safety.
This includes providers such as Google where we use Google Analytics 4 for website measurement and Google reCAPTCHA to reduce spam and abuse on our contact form.
7. International transfers
Some website infrastructure or service providers may process information outside South Africa. Where that happens, we aim to use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information involved.
8. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, for follow-up business communications, for our records, or to satisfy legal and regulatory requirements. Business enquiry records submitted through the website may be retained for ongoing sales follow-up and record-keeping. Session-based attribution data stored in browser session storage normally lasts until the browser session ends or is cleared by the user. Google Analytics data retention is managed in our GA4 property settings and may vary according to the reporting configuration in use at the time.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure. No system or transmission method is completely secure, but we aim to apply sensible and proportionate safeguards.
10. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or object to certain processing activities.
To make a request, contact us at jordyn@jnkwebcollective.co.za. If you believe your personal information has been handled unlawfully, you may also lodge a complaint with the relevant South African regulator.
11. Cookies, analytics, and tracking
This website now uses measurement and anti-abuse tools in addition to basic hosting and server logs. Those tools are used to understand how visitors reach the site, how they move from page entry to enquiry, and to protect the public contact form from spam and automated misuse. Non-essential analytics remains off by default until a visitor chooses to accept it through the site's cookie settings.
11.1 Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand website traffic and basic funnel performance.
Events and data points we currently use for measurement may include:
- page views and page path information;
- CTA click events;
- form start, form abandonment, form submission, and form error events;
- landing page, referral source, source / medium, UTM campaign, and related attribution values;
- high-level browser and device metadata normally available to Google Analytics.
We configure GA4 to support funnel reporting and attribution. We do not intentionally send free-text message content, email addresses, phone numbers, or other direct identifiers to Google Analytics as part of our event tracking.
11.2 Form submission and funnel tracking
When you interact with the website contact form, we may measure the path from page entry to enquiry submission. This helps us understand which pages, channels, and campaigns are generating genuine business enquiries and where users abandon the form.
11.3 Cookies, session storage, and similar technologies
This website may use a combination of cookies and browser storage technologies, including:
- essential Google reCAPTCHA-related cookies or similar signals used by Google to assess suspicious activity and protect the contact form;
- optional Google Analytics cookies used by Google to distinguish visits and support aggregated reporting, only after analytics consent is granted;
- optional browser
sessionStorageused by Elumio to retain attribution values such as landing page, referrer, UTM fields, and click identifiers during a browsing session, only after analytics consent is granted.
11.4 Retention
Session storage data used for attribution is intended to be short-lived and normally remains available only for the active browser session unless the browser preserves the session longer. Google Analytics retention periods depend on the settings configured in our GA4 property. Enquiry data submitted to us is retained in line with our business records and follow-up requirements.
11.5 Advertising and remarketing
As at the last-updated date of this policy, the website uses Google Analytics for measurement and funnel analysis. We do not describe this website as using Google Ads remarketing unless and until that is specifically enabled and this policy is updated to reflect it.
11.6 Managing cookies and opt-out choices
You can manage or limit tracking technologies in several ways, including:
- using the site's cookie banner or Cookie settings control to accept, reject, or revise non-essential analytics preferences;
- adjusting your browser settings to block or clear cookies and site data;
- using Google's tools or browser add-ons for Google Analytics opt-out where available;
- ending or clearing your browser session to remove session storage values used for attribution;
- choosing to contact us by email or phone instead of using the protected web form if you do not want to use reCAPTCHA on the form.
For more detail, please also read our Cookie Policy.
12. External links
This website may link to third-party platforms such as LinkedIn or Google policy pages. Those platforms manage their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their policies or content.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or website changes. The latest version will be published on this page with the updated effective date. Where material tracking or analytics practices change, we aim to update this page and the Cookie Policy accordingly.
